On Saturday 17th August I paid a visit to the annual Imberbus running day across the MoD Salisbury Plain and to the lost village of Imber as well as buses continuing to unique destinations beyond Imber.

Certainly an oddity! 69502 (BJ10VGC) on route 23A at Gore Cross. © BnT Photography

I arrived at Warminster to see massive queues for routemasters, so when 69502 showed up empty, I guaranteed it a ride. I took it to New Zealand Farm Camp via Imber and then back to Gore Cross, where I did some bus spotting!

I got some amazing images, including the top image of LT1000 due to the beautiful nature of the land surrounding Gore Cross. However, I ended my spotting session when LT700 arrived heading to Warminster, which I then took to Imber, complete with working iBus!

I snapped WHV114 as it headed to Warminster then had a quick look at the grounds surrounding St Giles Church. After quickly viewing Imber, RML2318, an open top RML, turns up, complete with the Go Ahead night spare Tricky Micky as driver and famous bus driver vlogger DoubleDeckerAnton as the conductor! Both were lovely to talk to and it was a pleasure meeting you both.

At Warminster, I waited for a short time before LT450 showed up, heading to New Zealand Farm Camp. I got off at Gore Cross, and boarded an RM (I can't remember the fleetnumber) on the Brazen Bottom and Market Lavington loop service. As it was getting late, this service continued to Warminster Station after Gore Cross, but I alighted at Gore Cross and caught M1 behind instead back to Warminster, which was certainly an interesting ride!

One awesome lineup! © BnT Photography

I took some final pictures, saw a Class 33 lead a railtour out of Warminster, and headed home.

Thanks for reading!
