Here is my article on the Reading Bus Garage Open Day.
I arrived directly to the site, meaning I did not have to use any shuttle buses. However, I did ride one shuttle - to be mentioned later on.
As I entered the event, I was greeted by a number of colourful buses parked together alongside many food establishments and model and art stands. There was an Enviro 400 City providing trips through the bus wash, an Enviro 400 MMC with customisable destinations and loads more!

A large majority of the display was made up of vehicles from Reading's own fleet, including various gas Enviro 300s and a number of Enviro 400s of all forms as well as a solitary Wright Streetdeck, Enviro 200, Dennis Dart Training Vehicle and a minibus. These buses had some blind changes occur, mainly displaying route 702.

The event was a charity event, so appropriately, a Scania Omnicity has had a Cancer Research advertisement applied and was shown as the centrepiece of the event. Although it was locked off, it served a very good purpose.

After enjoying my time at the event, I rode on 757 (YX64VRT) on a round trip via Friar Street and Reading Station. It was a very enjoyable ride, but could have been slightly longer! I then went home after the bus dropped me back, outside of the garage.
Thank you for reading!
